ABOUT RYAN HERN

Since I can remember, I have always loved guns and have been shooting and hunting with my Dad from a very young age . I began shooting IDPA in the Summer of 2016 at the age of 12. Top ten finishes were not uncommon for me at local matches. I currently shoot a Wilson Combat full size CQB in 9 mm, and earned this gun by mowing yards and saving my money. I enjoy keeping my gun clean and in perfect order, and have always been interested in taking things apart and also how they work.

When I’m not shooting or practicing on the range, I enjoy hunting, fishing, mowing, spending time with my family, and going to church, where I am active in our youth group. I am currently in the 8th grade at Camden Fairview Middle School where I am a straight A student, President of the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Project Lead the Way (engineering focused program), Beta Club member, Fire Marshall, help with flag duty every week, and have volunteered at our area Special Olympics. I am interested in one day becoming an engineer, and I also love 60’s and 70’s muscle cars and racing.

One of my goals is to prove that kids can be proficient and safe with firearms, as well as compete with adults. In my opinion, Wilson Combat makes the finest guns in the world, and I’m so blessed to be a part of the Wilson Combat Shooting Team and excited to see where this adventure takes me.
