 Wilson Combat® has continuously applied the latest technology in materials and processes to the venerable 1911 for many years – the result is the reliable, accurate, and durable pistols we handcraft today.

Grips have been designed for form and function – with the general theme that making the grips with more aggressive and sharper points, checkering, etc., yielded a grip that provided more control. Sometimes, grips were designed to be so aggressive that shooting gloves were required.  A 45 ACP has lots of recoil, and much of that is translated to a tendency for the muzzle to rise in the shooter’s hand – the well-known “muzzle flip”. If you don’t control flip, your ability to have a rapid and accurate subsequent shot is greatly impaired – and too much flip can even result in a “stove-pipe” jam. Wilson Combat® engineers have used their understanding of how a 1911 reacts when fired and their engineering expertise to design a grip that delivers the maximum control possible, with a truly comfortable grip that doesn’t punish the shooter’s hand.
